The event drew a crowd of supporters, local residents, and party volunteers, signaling the start of an energetic push to retain the riding, a long-standing NDP stronghold.

Bachrach, who has represented Skeena—Bulkley Valley since 2019, arrived at the new office in downtown Kitimat at 3 PM, greeted by cheers and applause. The office, adorned with orange NDP banners and signs, will serve as a hub for campaign activities in the Kitimat area as Bachrach seeks another term in Ottawa.

Bacharach addressed those that gathered at the office. Kitimat Area has included the entire speech with this article for those who wish to listen.

The event comes amid a heated race in Skeena—Bulkley Valley, with the Conservative Party, led by candidate Ellis Ross, intensifying efforts to challenge the NDP’s dominance in the riding. Recent projections from polling aggregator 338Canada suggest a Conservative edge.

The office opening also highlighted the NDP’s commitment to engaging voters in person, with Bachrach noting plans for town halls and door-knocking efforts in the coming weeks. Volunteers were already busy inside, preparing campaign materials and coordinating schedules for the month ahead.

As the federal election nears, the Skeena—Bulkley Valley race is shaping up to be one of British Columbia’s most closely watched contests. Bachrach, a former mayor of Smithers, will face off against Ross, a former Haisla Nation councillor and provincial MLA, as well as candidates from the Green Party and Christian Heritage Party. With just under a month until election day, the new Kitimat office stands as a symbol of Bachrach’s determination to hold the riding for the NDP.

The campaign office is located on the third floor of Unit 370, 374 City Centre. Kitimat. welcoming residents to drop by, ask questions, or get involved. For now, Bachrach and his team are hitting the ground running, ready to make their case to voters across the northwest.

Kitimat Area has submitted an election questionnaire to each candidate for MP of Skeena Bulkley Valley. We look forward to publishing Taylor's answers once we receive them.
