The annual Kitimat Spring Craft and Business Fair is back, bringing together local artisans, crafters, and businesses under one roof at the Riverlodge Recreation Centre today, April 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I spoke with Micah's mother Jacinda about his venture. " It started as a grade 5 project. It started off with a few printings, baby dragons, etc. Micah lives with autism and this helps socially with reaching out to people".

Don’t miss this chance to support local talent like Micah and many local businesses. Head over to the Riverlodge Recreation Centre between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. today to experience the best of what Kitimat has to offer. Bring your friends and family, and make a day of it—you never know what treasures you might find!

This beloved community event has been a staple in Kitimat for years, offering a platform for home-based businesses and local entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services. The fair is a celebration of Kitimat's creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, featuring a wide array of handcrafted items, unique gifts, and innovative business offerings.

Attendees can look forward to browsing through a diverse selection of booths, each presenting something special—from handmade jewelry and artwork to gourmet foods and wellness products. The fair also provides an excellent opportunity for networking and discovering the latest trends in the local business scene. With spring on the horizon, it’s the perfect place to find seasonal decorations, gardening supplies, or outdoor gear from local suppliers. Visitors can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with creativity and community spirit.

The event is by admission. $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, children under 5 are free. Bringing a reusable bag will save you $1 on the admission price. With ample parking available at the Riverlodge Recreation Centre, located at 654 Columbia Avenue. Food and refreshments will be on offer, making it a full day of fun and discovery for the whole family. You'll find local food trucks outside the venue such as Beyond Burgers. Inside the venue you'll find the Joanne Monaghan room is now the food room. Filled with treats you'll be sure to enjoy.

By attending, you’re not only discovering unique products but also contributing to the local economy. Whether you’re looking for one-of-a-kind gifts, home decor, or just want to see what’s new in town, the fair has something for everyone.

A highlight for me was Micah's 3D Critter-Crafts. On display at the booth were 3D printing of items such as keychains, pictures, and Pokémon characters.
