On a vibrant Easter Sunday, the Kitimat Service Centre came alive with the Flower Power 420 Block Party, hosted by JV Cannabis. This lively, 19+ event, which required ID for entry, brought together the community for a celebration of music, food, and local talent, all while supporting a worthy cause. Attendees were encouraged to bring monetary donations or non-perishable food items for Tamitik Status of Women, earning raffle tickets for their generosity.The event buzzed with an eclectic mix of vendors catering to every taste and interest. Foodies savored offerings from The Pit Stop’s gourmet dishes, Sweet Cheezuz’s delectable treats, and Pizza Etc with its classic pizza slices.

Meanwhile, Kitimat Barbers provided sharp trims, My Little Addiction Thrift Store showcased unique finds, and Green Goddess Bath offered luxurious self-care products. Face painting by Matthew Daratha added a colorful flair, delighting attendees of all ages. These vendors, among others, created a bustling marketplace vibe that kept the energy high.

Music was the heartbeat of the block party, with local bands and musicians delivering unforgettable performances. Tony Harmel, Sarah Bee, 3 Pints, Paddy, Preslie and the Stank filled the air with soulful tunes and infectious rhythms, keeping the crowd dancing and singing along. The entertainment lineup showcased Kitimat’s rich talent pool, earning cheers from an enthusiastic audience.

A special highlight was the appearance of Danny Nunes as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, a chilling yet thrilling surprise. Attendees eagerly lined up to snap photos with the iconic character, adding a playful, spooky twist to the day’s festivities.
